Sustainability Report 2023

Sustainability is integrated into Teknia’s business strategy and is part of the day-to-day work of the company’s people and operations.

2023 Report

The spirit of Teknia has been based on the objective of creating a positive environmental and social contribution to the territories where the company operates. As a manufacturing company, we have focused on sustainability as a priority axis of our business strategy.

Environment commitment

The world is at a turning point that demands action. At Teknia we are contributing to the circular economy and climate change action from our operations.

Action against climate change
  • As a long-term goal, the company aims to achieve carbon neutrality internally by 2030, as well as to engage our suppliers in achieving our emissions reduction targets.
  • We are developing projects to guarantee the supply of electricity from renewable sources through power purchase agreements, Guarantee of Origin certificates and self-consumption projects at our plants.
  • More than a third of the company’s global electricity consumption comes from renewable energy sources.
Circular Economy
  • We optimise the consumption of materials by reducing the weight of our components without compromising their quality.
  • We contribute to the recycling and recovery of both raw materials and production waste so that they can be reprocessed.
  • In all our factories, the water we consume in the cooling process is 100% reused in a closed circuit.

Commitment with society

Our social commitment is clear: we encourage the development of opportunities in the communities where we operate, through the promotion of social projects with a positive impact that contribute to the education and employment of vulnerable groups. We are driven by education as a means for the progress of society.

  • Teknia is a group committed to its more than 3,300 employees, investing in its workforce, supporting its growth and ensuring equal opportunities in all areas and countries.
  • More than 90% of our contracts are permanent.
  • In the area of people management, Teknia promotes the fostering of a quality working environment, based on respect, diversity and the personal and professional development of the team.
Social action
  • Since 2018, we have donated more than €600,000 to social organisations to promote the socio-economic development of vulnerable groups.
  • We support annually nearly 1,000 people directly and indirectly.
