The Challenge
To help alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, namely by addressing the massive influx of refugees around our Rzeszów plant in Poland.
Action in Ukraine
Plan of action
- Employees from the Group’s nine Spanish plants generously donated essential goods and resources, which were carefully packed and sent from Teknia in two Trucks to Rzeszów, a city located near the Ukranian border.Upon arrival in Poland, they received the trucks and took charge of coordinating their distribution to the local authorities, ensuring that the aid reached those who needed the most.
- We financed the refurbishment of a shelter to support the refugees further by financing the refurbishment of a shelter, allowing more individuals fleeing the conflict to be housed in optimal conditions, providing them with a safer and more dignified place to stay during such difficult times.
- We made a donation to Caritas Poland to support their ‘Help Ukraine’ programme. This initiative is focused on providing much-needed shelter for refugees in Ukraine, as well as offering them essential training to enhance their skills, empowering them to find jobs and facilitating their integration into society.
Impact Generation
- 2 camiones se enviaron cargados de bienes y recursos de primera necesidad enviados a la ciudad de Rzeszów, como parte de la ayuda humanitaria destinada a ayudar a Ucrania.
- 70.000 € al servicio para apoyar el programa “Ayuda a Ucrania” de Cáritas Polonia, con el objetivo de proporcionar asistencia directa a los afectados por la crisis humanitaria en el país.
