Stamping is a manufacturing technology that allows to obtain complex metal parts by placing the material under a compressive load between two molds in a stamping operation. Teknia is an expert in stamping metal components for different kind of products, mainly related to three product cate-gories: seating, safety and body & chassis.
Combining stamping with some other technologies available in the Group, Teknia is able to offer value-added products, while having presence in various areas of a vehicle. Stamped components are, for example, for seating with metallic welded assemblies. They are also in safety components with very complex and technical solutions.
To manufacture safety products, Teknia uses plastic overmoulded assemblies, a technology that combines stamping and plastic injection expertise. The group also has capacities in deep drawing components.
Global capacities to support customers in stamping
Due to the combination of Teknia’s expertise in other specialized materials and technologies, it is highly valued by customers as a multi-technological supplier. Teknia has a wide variety or presses from 250 Tn till 1.000 Tn, covering an important part of the necessities from its customer base. The company works to add maximum value to its components by forming a more complex assembly or welding.
Teknia has global capacities to support the needs of its customers in stamping, with 8 plants across the world distributed among USA & Europe that can offer stamping tailored solutions. It’s synergies and multi-technology expertise across the group provide additional value to its customers.
For example, a horn plate assembly is a sensitive and complex safety component assembled in al-most all the steering wheels of every automotive brand. It is a multi-technological and high-demanding product in terms of quality which represents Teknia industrial and technological soul. All technologies and processes involved in manufacturing this product are joined under the same roof, giving a lower manufacturing cost and supplier management rate for customers, a higher quality con-trol and an important reduction of CO2 emissions.
